back | forward

7.1.  PFT STANDARDS

  1. The PFT is a physical test that each cadet must pass in order to stay in AFROTC.

  2. If a cadet on scholarship fails the PFT, that cadet will go on conditional status or be withdrawn form AFROTC.

  3. If a cadet not on scholarship fails the PFT, no action is taken unless the failure occurs on the mandatory FT PFT, in which case the cadet may not be selected to attend FT.  One mandatory PFT is given each semester, however, there may be several practice PFTs given throughout the semester.

  4. The PFT consists of three events in which cadets must pass all three events in-order to pass. The events consist of:

  1. Sit-ups

  2. Push-ups

  3. 2 Mile Run

  1. There is a time limit of 2 minutes for both the push-ups and the sit-ups with a five minute rest after each event.

  2. The three event PFT is scored out of 500 points. Male Scoresheet | Female Scoresheet

7.2.  WEIGHT STANDARDS

  1. The goals of the Air Force ROTC Weight program is to encourage an overall healthy lifestyle and improve military appearance.  Each cadet is required to stay within the Air Force ROTC Weight Standards.  If a cadet is under or over the Weight Standards, the cadet will either be placed on a diet program, conditional status, or wavered, depending on the individual situation.

  2. If a cadet is ten pounds under or over the individual maximum weight, the cadet will be given a Body Fat Check.  This test measures the approximate percentage of body fat on a person.  A cadet may not have over 20 percent body fat.

7.3.  PHYSICAL TRAINING (PT)

  1. At Det. 028, the Wing forms up twice a week for Physical Training (PT).  PT is held around the Detachment area and begins at 0600 on Tuesday and Thursday morning.

  2. PT consists of various physical activities determined by the WSSO. PT is a means to help keep a cadet in good physical condition, however, it should not be solely relied upon to stay physically fit.

  3. Each cadet is encouraged to set up an individual exercise program with the campus fitness center (weight room).

7.4.  MEDICAL CHANGES

All cadets must report all medical changes to AFROTC cadre to determine continued medical eligibility.  This includes dental conditions and orthodontic work as well as major illness or broken bones.
